Southern California Residents Report ADU Contractor Fraud, Leaving Projects Unfinished

Homeowner Aracely Reyes from Whittier, California, hired Next Generation Builders through Instagram to convert her garage into an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). Caring for her elderly mother, Reyes needed additional living space. Reyes, who had paid $84,000 out of a total $104,000 contract, was left with an incomplete ADU project. While the unit was framed, the work was far from done. Her 88-year-old mother is now forced to sleep in the living room as they await a solution.
